HK virus tally crosses 2,000 mark, 29 critical


There have been 61 additional confirmed coronavirus cases in Hong Kong as at midnight, bringing the tally to 2,020, which includes one probable case. Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said three are imported and the rest are locally infected. Chuang said the woman had contact with many elderly people and been to elderly care homes during her incubation period. The Hospital Authority said so far 1,324 patients have recovered after 23 more were discharged in the past 24 hours. Chief Manager of Clinical Effectiveness & Technology Management, Dr Linda Yu, said among 609 confirmed patients staying in 14 hospitals, 29 are critical, 11 are serious and the rest are stable.
