Hong Kong rejected comments in the 2019 US State Department's Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. The wide-ranging US report covered subjects that included civil rights, the integrity of the person, the political process, people trafficking and workers' rights, RTHK reports. Although Hong Kong escaped major criticism, a number of concerns were flagged. But it also mentioned the vandalising of the Hong Kong offices of Beijing’s state-controlled Xinhua News Agency in November. The government said foreign governments should not interfere in the internal affairs of Hong Kong.
