HK football league could resume on July 19

Hong Kong Football Association chairman Pui Kwan-kay said 6 local teams participating in the Hong Kong Premier League reopening could soon play their first match on July 19. Pui said on a radio programme this morning, that the 6 local teams were allowed by the Home Affairs Bureau to use 4 venues for training. The four venues include Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre in Tseung Kwan O, Jockey Club Kitchee Centre in Shatin, Kowloon Bay Park, and Aberdeen Sports Ground. Pui also said the reopening of matches will be played behind closed doors, hopefully finishing all matches in mid-October with condensed fixtures. The association will continue to assess the current epidemic with authorities and will release further information regarding the date for the reopening of the league.
