The High Court has sided with Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow Sing-chi in his eight-year legal feud with his ex-girlfriend Alice Yu Man-fung who sued him for HK$70 million in investment commissions. During litigation, Yu claimed Chow had made an oral agreement for him paying her 10 percent of his investment profits as a commission for her help as his consultant. The commission was said to be a total of HK$70 million, including the profits gained from his real estate investment profits - three houses in Beverly Hills neighborhood and the hilltop bungalow. While Chow claimed that what he offered to Yu was, at the very most, simply a romantic declaration in the heat of the moment - in other words, he was just sweet talking in her ear - and has absolutely no legal effect.
