Hong Kong blue chips closed lower today after trading in and out of the negative and positive columns. The benchmark Hang Seng Index gave up 0.71 percent, or 179.18 points at 25,213.33. In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index lost 0.94 percent, or 28.25 popints at 2,968.52. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index fell by 1.48 percent, or 27.94 points at 1,859.40.
