Drug-related cases—of which courts have taken cognizance of charge-sheets—will fall under the above-mentioned High Court directive. The court also directed the deputy commissioner, superintendents of police and officers-in-charge (OCs) throughout the country to make a serious effort to resolve these cases. The High Court bench then stated that those failing to resolve narcotics cases within the specified time limit will be held accountable. The High Court granted bail to Mizanur, after he filed a petition seeking interim bail.
