The bench of justices JBM Hasan and Khairul Alam issued the rule on Tuesday after hearing the petition, reports the Bangla Tribune. The Court also asked why it will not order to formulate a specific policy to distribute the information printed on leaflets. The court asked the Election Commission and its secretary to respond within four weeks. The petition says it is necessary to let the voters know about the candidates’ personal details, to aid choosing a suitable people’s representatives through a fair election. The Representation of the People Order, 1972 (RPO) and the Election Manual clearly states this, which is not followed by the candidates.
