more-inThe Bombay High Court on Monday allowed a 13-year-old girl to terminate her 24-week pregnancy. An FIR was filed after the girl was found missing from her home in Ulhasnagar on July 29 last year. Naik interviewed the victim and directed the State-run JJ Hospital’s medical board to examine her and submit a report on Monday. The board in its report said, “Termination of pregnancy during the 24-week gestation period poses a risk to the mother. Therefore, it is advisable to terminate the pregnancy.”After perusing the report, the Bench allowed the petition and directed the girl to appear before the JJ Hospital on Tuesday to undergo the medical termination of pregnancy.
