A High Court bench led by Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury issued the rule on Sunday. Earlier on February 25, Khilgaon resident Hossain Khan filed the writ challenging the conditions with the High Court. Ishrat said: “According to clause 741 of the Police Regulations, 1943, candidates applying for the post of SI must be from respectable parentage. In a sub-clause, it also mentions that the candidate should be unmarried and must remain unmarried till the end of his training period. “Because of these conditions, the writ petitioner cannot apply for the post of SI even though he has educational qualifications required.
