Gyan, on Monday, May 22, announced his retirement from the team, after disagreement over his role as the captain of the team. Three local players form Asante Kotoko and Accra Herat's of Oak have been called into the team. Four debutants including Mohammed Alhassan, Samuel Owusu, Abdul Fatawu and Kwabena Owusu all made the provisional team. Strikers: Asamoah Gyan (Kayserispor, Turkey), Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace, England), Adbul Majeed Waris ( Nantes, France), Caleb Ekuban (Trabzonspor, Turkey and Kwabena Owusu (Leganes, Spain).
