Gurgaon: Ola, Uber claim services resume, union disagrees

A day after app-based cab aggregators sent text messages to customers that they have restarted their normal services, the wait time and pricing remained high on Sunday. Despite the aggregators claiming resumption of normal services, the protesting cab drivers’ association said it was yet to call off the strike. Cab drivers attached to app-based aggregators such as Ola and Uber have been protesting against the firms since February 10, demanding fare revision and insurance. On Sunday, Anaita Kaul of Hamilton Court could visit her aunt in Saket, New Delhi, by hiring an app-based cab that charged her double the fare. When I received a notification that cab services have resumed, I availed of the facility right away,” Anaita said.
