Guns N' Roses NZ tour 'unlikely' to go ahead

PHOTO: SUPPLIEDA stadium boss says at this stage it's unlikely the Guns N' Roses New Zealand tour will go ahead, but the promoter is yet to make a final call on the matter. The band was scheduled to hit Wellington's Sky Stadium on Friday November 19 before performing their first-ever South Island concert at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on Sunday November 21. Wellington's Sky Stadium chief executive Shane Harmon said they were still waiting to hear from the promoter with a final decision on whether the tour would go ahead. Other stadium events which hang in the balance pending a move to alert level 1 are the Home & Garden show, which has already been delayed, and the Wellington Marathon. "This summer we [Sky Stadium] had pencil bookings for up to five international concerts and it's unlikely any of those pencilled bookings will come to fruition.
