The pre-election violence that started a couple of weeks ago in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has claimed an aide of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The latest casualty is the Special Assistant to Governor Okowa on Youth Development, identified as Mr Lawrence Ngozi Akpomiemie. He was allegedly shot dead by yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Friday night, a few hours to the botched Saturday presidential and national assembly poll at Ekpan. Some sources said the assailants made away with huge sums of money found in his possession. It could, however, not be ascertained whether the attackers trailed him over the money in his possession.
