Bristow then confined the woman to the shed on his farm near Adelaide in southern Australia, chaining her hands and legs, the court heard. He threatened to shoot her and told her fake stories about police corruption and his involvement in a kidnapping ring. Bristow showed no emotion as Geraldine Davison, the district court judge, handed him the sentence and set a non-parole period of 12 years, six months on Tuesday.
