The Argo in New Brighton has got new tenants that are a little out of the ordinary. The karoro (black backed gulls) have set up shop and given birth. He would be sharing the gulls' story on the People's Independent Republic of New Brighton Facebook page and on Instagram with the tag #blackbackseagull. Despite bird numbers likely growing at the same rate as human settlement in New Zealand, O'Donnell said he had never heard of the birds nesting so close to people.
