When you're Guillermo Rigondeaux, a loss is more damaging to your brand than it is to most fighters. Officially, Rigondeaux said he had a left-hand injury, but few in the boxing community are buying that excuse. Most members of the hardcore boxing community see the 37-year-old as one of the most skilled fighters in the sport. As it stands, we now know Rigondeaux has a superior in the ring, but even more disparaging, we question his athletic heart. As he approaches 40, there probably isn't enough time or gas left in the tank to rewrite the script.
