A jet transporting at least $16 million in cocaine crashed in northern Guatemala, killing the co-pilot. The plane was tracked to Sierra del Lacandón National Park in the department of Petén where it crashed shortly after 7am. The Guatemalan military detected the jet Saturday at 4.45am after it illegally entered its airspace and tracked the jet to the northern department of Petén where it crashed, killing the co-pilot. The military arrested Mexican pilot David Elizondo and two Guatemalan nationals, Jesús Chiquín and Gerardo Xi Pan.
