MANILA, Philippines — A female guard was arrested yesterday morning upon entering a Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) station in Pasay City for allegedly carrying a pistol in her bag. Evelyn Batocabe Zapra, 28, who works for Advance Forces Security and Investigation Services Inc., was accosted after a 9mm pistol, loaded with eight bullets, was detected when she placed her bag in the x-ray machine at the baggage inspection area of the MRT-3’s Taft Avenue station. The rail line said Zapra was turned over to the police Regional Mobile Force Battalion for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the election-related gun ban.
