KUALA LUMPUR: Lim Guan Eng (pic) has expressed shock that PAS leaders had voted for the Anti-Fake News Bill 2018 that was passed in Parliament on Monday (April 2). The DAP secretary-general said that since the Bill would likely restrict freedom of speech and be used to silence Opposition leaders, he had expected PAS leaders to vote against the Bill. The bloc voting, called by the Opposition, saw 123 voting for the Bill, with 64 against. "This is proof that there has been selective prosecution and double standards. Lim said that the Bill could prevent the media and Opposition leaders from carrying out their duties professionally, as they would be afraid to be charged under the Bill.
