The first plantings were predominantly cultivars used in their parents’ original lavender farm, with others from around New Zealand obtained through the Lavender Growers Association. Given the right conditions and cultivation, lavender plants can live for 15 to 25 years, depending on the environment. Wanaka Lavender Farm is open to visitors seven days a week (until May).
