Heavy traffic paralysed a section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday morning, with gridlock stretching from Longbridge to Magboro and beyond. The congestion, which began around 7:30am, was reportedly triggered by a fuel tanker that obstructed the road near the Magboro bridge. A user on X, Emperor Ridwan Abdyekeen, tagged the FRSC in a post, saying the truck had been causing “a hell of gridlock since 7:30am.”Traffic heading outbound Lagos was the worst hit. PUNCH correspondent on the scene observed that the inbound Lagos lane was largely free, while the outbound lane towards Mowe and Ibadan remained at very slow movement. The precise location where the traffic stopped could not be determined.
