Greenland to launch 4th vaccination campaign this fall

Greenland will launch a new vaccination campaign this fall, saying it’s expecting a new COVID-19 wave at the end of the year. “The National Medical Office is expecting a COVID-19 wave during the autumn and winter, with an omicron-like variant likely dominant,” the government said in a news release. The program will target those over 50 and immuno-compromised people under the age of 50. The government says the goal of the campaign will be to reduce the risk of serious illness and death, not to stop infections from taking place, and for that reason, those under 50 will not be offered the shots. The vaccination program in Greenland is expected to launch October 1.
