Plans for 147 cost-rental and social apartments in Cork have been approved by City Hall, with the first homes set to be delivered by 2030. The Land Development Agency (LDA) has partnered with Cork City Council to develop the mix of one- and two-bed apartments on Anglesea Tce, a short distance from all city centre amenities as well as Kent Station and Cork Bus Station. “Anglesea Tce is a fantastic site with great potential,” said LDA director of development Phelim O’Neill. Cork City Council assistant chief executive Brian Geaney said the development would provide much-needed homes in the city and help contribute with the pent-up demand for housing in the area. “The proposed development will greatly improve the provision of secure, high-quality cost rental and social housing in Cork City, in full alignment with the Cork City Development Plan 2022–2028 and national housing policy objectives under Housing for All,” he said.
