Kyriakos Mamidakis, co-founder of Mamidoil-Jetoil, was found dead at his Athens home by his butler ANA-MPAAn 84-year-old Greek tycoon has killed himself after his family business fell into bankruptcy — the latest apparent victim of his country’s financial crisis. Kyriakos Mamidakis shot himself in the head last night at his home in a northern suburb of Athens, officials said. His butler found his body in the study, with a gun lying beside it. The Cretan-born businessman founded Mamidoil-Jetoil with his brothers, George and Nick, in the late 1960s and built it up into one of the region’s most successful companies, trading in petroleum-based products. There was no suicide note.
