Tenants renting flats above the Crown and Castle pub in Dalston, London have had their sunlight blocked by a large advertising hoarding for the iPhone 11 Pro. You become a landlord, earning rent from 17 flats above a pub, then you sell the space on the outside of the building for advertising. Never mind that the hoarding blocks light from your tenants' windows. Local Green candidate for Hackney North and Stoke Newington, Alex Armitage, has posted an image on Instagram of the Crown and Castle pub covered with the advertising hoarding. The Independent spoke to Sevineh Nazif, 42, who said when the windows are blocked, she can't breathe and feels claustrophobic.
