Big changes are in store for the park in Adams following multiple grants being awarded that will allow the community to add another ball field. It was announced on Wednesday by the Adams Community Foundation that the GAP Project (Growing Adams Park) received a grant award to help improve the community’s outdoor recreation facilities. The award was part of $1.143 million dollars in funding approved by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission board earlier this month. The total amount of funds to go towards the park project is $nearly $800,000, and will allow for several improvements. Erin Dorn, a co-chair of both the GAP Project and the Adams Community Foundation, said the grants will allow for significant improvements at Adams Village Park.
