Grand Canyon Remains May Be of Missing Louisiana Woman

Remains believed to be those of a 22-year-old Louisiana woman missing since April have been found in the Grand Canyon. Park officials say rangers found the remains believed to be those of Diana Zacarias of Natchitoches (NAK-uh-tesh), Louisiana, below Pima Point while conducting training Saturday. Park officials say that the medical examiner and the National Park Service are investigating the incident and that no additional information is immediately available. Park officials say the tentative identification is based on evidence found at the scene and that the remains have been transferred to the Coconino (koh-koh-NEE'-noh) County medical examiner for positive identification. A multiday search was conducted after Zacarias' family reported her missing April 3.
