The talented drummer won a Grammy award at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009 for an album titled, Global Drum Project, alongside Mickey Hart, Giovanni Hidalgo and Zakir Hussein. Meanwhile, Adepoju had in 1994 been named as a collaborator (not a primary creator) of a Grammy award. He has won three Brit Awards (including ‘Best British Male’ 1992), MTV Video Music Award, Ivor Novello Awards, among several others. In 2006, Babalola became a Grammy Award winner for his work on Ali ‘Farka’ Toure’s In the Heart of the Moon. The rapper has also won several awards including the BET Hip Hop Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
