His appointment in Grameenphone will be effective from Sept 1, the telecom operator said in a media release on Thursday. He will be replacing Dilip Pal who is joining DTAC, Telenor’s operations in Thailand. Before Malaysia's DiGi, Broten was CFO at Telenor Pakistan and Telenor Hungary, formerly Pannon GSM. Grameenphone also said in the release that it has appointed its director, financial accounting and reporting, Mustafa Alim Aolad, as deputy CFO. Grameenphone CEO Michael Foley welcomed both Broten and Aolad.
