Now three weeks before Sweden are set to play Ukraine in their first play-off match for the World Cup, Potter has been handed a new lengthy contract. Now we look forward to the coming years, but first and foremost, hopefully a World Cup summer.' It doesn't change anything in the short-term, because we want to win two matches to go to the World Cup. Potter was sacked by West Ham at the end of September after a disappointing start to the season. The 50-year-old followed this up with successful spells at Brighton and Swansea City before two disastrous spells with Chelsea and then West Ham.
