Photo : BSSTANGAIL, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock, Agriculture and Food Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said the government is working to achieve food self-sufficiency and transform surplus production into exportable commodities. He made the remarks while addressing a function held at the Tangail Sadar Upazila Parishad premises in Tangail this afternoon. The state minister said a significant portion of Tangail Sadar comprises char areas and the government will undertake maximum efforts for the development of char areas. Tuku said the country has adequate fertiliser stocks and strict monitoring is in place to ensure proper distribution.
