Airin Phanrit, deputy government spokeswoman, said Thailand records the highest number of drowning incidents between March and May. Overall, 76.5% of drowning victims died, reflecting how quickly and severely such incidents occur, making prevention the top priority, she said. The warning came as two boys drowned on Saturday in separate river and canal incidents while playing during the school holiday.
