Govt suspends work on Jan. 2By The Manila TimesPRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte ordered the nationwide suspension of work in government on January 2, 2019 to allow employees to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones. This will not be the case, however, for agencies involved in the delivery of basic health services, preparedness or response to disasters and calamities, or the performance of other vital services. Under Proclamation 555, which was signed by Duterte earlier this year, only New Year’s Day, January 1, is a regular holiday.
