Govt still reviewing aviation regulatory bodies, says PM

KUALA LUMPUR: The government is still reviewing all institutions and regulatory bodies in the aviation sector, including the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom), to see if there is a need to disband them. A business and financial publication recently reported Transport Minister Anthony Loke speaking at an investor forum that the government was mulling a restructure of regulatory bodies in the aviation sector. Mavcom and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia are the two regulatory bodies in the sector. But now there are people who say that they can turn MAS around. It was previously reported that the government had received four proposals, mostly from local companies, to turn MAS around.
