Govt seeks to blunt blow to economyPrime Minister Anutin CharnvirakulThe government will hold a meeting on Monday with key agencies and the private sector to discuss measures aimed at reducing the impact of the conflict in the Middle East. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Sunday he has called a meeting with the National Security Council at 10am, to be followed by talks with state agencies, the private sector, banks and chambers of commerce. Discussions will focus on trade, exports and imports, as well as possible price control measures to mitigate serious effects on consumers, he said. She said the offices will track shipping routes, marine insurance, logistics costs and import orders, along with product-specific impact assessments. The ministry will also look at expanding exports to South Asia, Africa and Latin America to reduce reliance on any single market, she said.
