Dipu Das was beaten and ultimately lynched by a mob following allegations of making offensive remarks, and was set on fire by hanging him from a tree. The assistance will be implemented under the supervision of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Tarakanda Upazila. As Dipu Das was the sole earning member of his family, the government assured comprehensive financial assistance aimed at ensuring the family's security, including the construction of a permanent house. The assistance the government is providing to his family is insignificant compared to the value of a human life. The way Dipu Das was killed by spreading communal frenzy is a shame for the entire nation, he said, adding: "Only justice can free us from this shame".
