As residents in Southland return to their sodden homes, the Government has announced it will provide financial assistance towards the flood clean-up. The Minister for Civil Defence flew in to Mataura by helicopter on Friday to announce a $100,000 contribution to the Southland regional Mayoral Relief Fund.
