The official declaration will be announced by Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam shortly at the secretariat, he added. Sources inside government said the decision was taken to minimize the risk of spread of the infection in the country. However, the movement of vehicles will not be halted by the announcement. The government also plans to reduce movement of vehicles and water transport if people do not come out and the railway authorities are working to reduce the schedules, sources added.
