The DigiLocker concept could essentially entail in a future wherein reliance on physical documents would be altogether minimal or absent. DigiLocker has tied up with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to provide digital driving license and vehicle registration that you can then carry around in your phone. While DigiLocker now allows for digital storage of your driving license and vehicle registration, states have to equip the police and designated officials with the relevant app to verify these digital documents. This means, once your state police and officials have the relevant app up and running, you will not be required to carry around physical copies of your driving license and vehicle registration while driving. These documents can then be viewed by officials who will have their own version of the mobile app.
