Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi has called for the strengthening of the health system to achieve universal healthcare coverage. UHC is intended to ensure all Kenyans have access to preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services at minimum financial burden. Abdi spoke in his office on Friday when he received a team from the Ministry of Health which will offer the county technical support in strengthening the health system. The county Health department has already started training community health assistants and public health officers on UHC. Abdi said the training would help improve access to health services.
