KUALA LUMPUR: The government will facilitate the return of civil officers and their family members from China following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said. The Malaysian civil service in China is made up of 34 Foreign Ministry officers and 52 officers from other agencies such as the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Tourism Ministry. “We plan to have them return to Malaysia as soon as possible as we prioritise their safety. “And if this outbreak continues, food supplies will also be a concern, although for now, it is sufficient. We will be sending food supplies as much as we can to the officers and their families.
