[Edward Kiplimo, Standard]The Government has suspended the registration of Worldcoin, pending an assessment on its risks. “The Government has suspended forthwith, activities of ‘Worldcoin’ and any other entity that may be similarly engaging Kenyans until relevant public agencies certify the absence of any risks to the general public whatsoever,” said Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure. “As far as the Data Act 2019 is concerned, they (Worldcoin) are acting within the law. The elephant in the room regarding the registration of Wordcoin is the compulsory scanning of eyeballs, in order to confirm the humanity of whoever is registering.
