The Government has suggested commercial landlords provide "concessions" for businesses that are in difficultly in a new Code of Conduct launched yesterday. The Code also suggests that commercial tenants looking for new rental arrangements should be clear as to why assistance is needed. "Throughout this crisis, the Government has been encouraging commercial tenants and landlords to engage with each other and have asked landlords to show forbearance in these extraordinary times. He added that the Code will help facilitate conversations between commercial landlords and tenants. The initiative has been welcomed by Retail Ireland, the Ibec body that represents the Irish retail sector.
