MANILA, Philippines — The government has tested nearly 7,000 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from May 2 to May 6, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Thursday. To be exact, 6,968 land-based and sea-based OFWs were tested for the SARS-CoV-2 which causes the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). ADVERTISEMENTIn a Twitter post, the PCG said a total of 3,577 OFWs in Luzon were tested on May 6 alone. The OFWs are currently undergoing self-isolation and asked to comply with health protocols against COVID-19 while they wait for their test results.
