Gota launches manifesto, will not allow foreign countries to intervene in Lanka's affairs


NewsPresidential candidate Gotabahaya Rajapaksa, in his manifesto, released today (Oct 25) emphasized that he would not allow foreign countries to meddle in the internal affairs of Sri Lanka under his rule. “We will not allow any foreign force to intervene unnecessarily into the affairs of Sri Lanka which is a sovereign state,” the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) candidate asserted in his address. “We will strengthen the state apparatus to protect the country from terrorists, underworld groups, criminals, drug racketeers, and foreign threats,” the SLPP candidate declared. The SLPP candidate said he hopes to generate more than a million job opportunities over the next five years across several sectors including tourism, IT, construction, transport, health, education, and sports. “We will especially develop the tourism industry to generate a revenue of USD 10 billion a year for the country,” Rajapaksa aimed.
