From Yogi Adityanath's Gorakhpur to PM Modi's constituency Varanasi, poor conditions in UP hospitalsUnder attack from all sides, the Yogi Adityanath government on Saturday, August 12 suspended the chief of Gorakhpur's Baba Raghav Das Medical college, where over 64 children died in six days due to lack of oxygen supply. A four-year-boy today succumbed to encephalitis (at the time of publishing), pushing the death toll to 64. The state government has also set up a committee to be led by the Chief Secretary to inquire into the role of oxygen suppliers in the incident. Earlier on Saturday, as Yogi Adityanath spoke to the Prime Minister and apprised him of the situation, the Opposition demanded the expulsion of state health and medical education ministers.
