Gor Mahia to use final KPL matches as build-up for Kagame Cup

Gor Mahia will leverage their remaining Kenyan Premier League matches to perfect their craft ahead of next month's Cecafa Kagame Cup, captain Philemon Otieno has said. The record Kenyan champions will fly the nation's flag at the regional inter-club showpiece, which resumes after a two-year sabbatical. On Wednesday, Otieno emphasised their intention to finish the season with a bang, saying their final two matches will be more like training sessions. "We are by no means underrating our opponents but our last two matches will give us a chance to gauge our potential for the Cecafa Kagame Cup," Otieno said. Previously known as the Cecafa Club Cup, the regional football showpiece was renamed the Kagame Interclub Cup in 2002 when Rwandan President Paul Kagame became the major sponsor.
