A clerk at Gohala TCAL High School in Gopalganj’s Muksudpur upazila has been suspended after he allegedly sexually assaulted an eighth-grader girl. The school’s managing committee suspended 45-year-old Nur Mohammad Sheikh on Sunday, four days after the incident, said Headmaster Giasuddin Gazi. Meanwhile, locals and students and teachers of the school held a human-chain protest at the school grounds demanding Nur’s arrest and punishment on Sunday afternoon. According to locals, Nur on February 8 had asked the victim to come with him to Muksudpur with the promise of helping her to get a scholarship. He then drugged her and reportedly sexually violated the girl when she was unconscious after taking her to a secluded place behind the local Milk Vita office.
