Google has rolled out its new AI Mode in the UK, a move that could completely change the way we search the web. According to UK businesses surveyed in 2025 research from LOCALiQ, 53% are already using AI in their marketing strategies – a notable jump from 21.1% the year before. What AI Mode means for usersAvailable to UK users aged 18 and above, with English set as their default language, AI Mode can be enabled through Google Search Labs - either via desktop or the Google app. Instead of just showing a list of links, AI Mode provides a summary of the answers and suggests follow-up questions to help refine your search. “As AI becomes embedded in everyday marketing, businesses must rethink how they appear in search,” said Nick Ashwood, Managing Director of LOCALiQ.
