Google has finally done what some iOS users have been wanting for a long time, and has made the Chrome browser for iOS open sourceWhile the Google Chrome browser has been open source since its launch, through the Chromium dev project), there’s been no such luck for iOS users. The company has finally added its Chrome code for iOS to the Chromium project. Developers who want to experiment with building mods for the browser on iOS, or just examine its security, should have no trouble anymore. In addition, since all of Chromium’s usual tests are now applicable to the iOS code, it makes it easier for developers to implement cross-platform features. That also means the Google Chrome browser for iOS is likely to see more frequent updates from here on out.
